Dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

American Cancer Society Hawaii Pacific saves lives from cancer by: 1) Helping people stay well by educating them on steps they can take to prevent cancer and find it early; 2) Helping people get well by providing accurate and timely informational, emotional and practical support services; 3) Funding cancer research to further understand its causes, determine how best to prevent it, and discover new ways to cure it; and 4) Fighting back by encouraging federal and state lawmakers to fight cancer by continuing government funding of cancer research, creating smoke free communities and improving access to affordable, quality health care.

American Red Cross of Hawaii

Dedicated to preventing and alleviating human suffering.

The American Red Cross of Hawaii is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and alleviating human suffering. The Red Cross helps people recover from disasters, teaches people how to save lives through first aid, CPR and other training, and provides emergency communication between Armed Forces service members and their families. The Hawaii Red Cross responds to disasters every 4 days throughout our state. The Red Cross is not a government agency and relies solely on the aloha spirit of giving from people and corporations in Hawaii to provide critical services.

Blood Bank of Hawaii

Saving lives for more than 60 years.

Founded in 1941, the Blood Bank of Hawai'i (BBH) is a non-profit organization that provides lifesaving blood products to 11 civilian hospitals on Oahu and eight on the Neighbor Islands. Everyday in Hawai'i, hundreds of patients count on volunteer blood donors for their very survival. Typical uses for blood include cancer therapy, surgical procedures and treatment of accident victims, trauma patients and mothers and babies during childbirth.

HUGS (Help, Understanding, and Group Support)

Providing hope, support and services for special families.

Established in 1982, HUGS (Help, Understanding and Group Support) is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit children's charity unique to Hawai'i, whose mission is to provide a variety of support services to a family in crisis whose child has been diagnosed as having a life-threatening illness or a medically fragile condition. HUGS services the entire family by facilitating peer interaction through family gatherings, peer support groups, and special events. They also coordinate volunteers who provide hospital visits, respite care and support at family events. For the past 24 years, HUGS has served thousands of families across the state of Hawaii.

Make - A - Wish Hawaii

We seek to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Headquartered in Honolulu, Make-A-Wish Hawaii is considered one of the top charities in the state, with 78 cents of every dollar raised going directly toward granting wishes in Hawaii. One of the first local Make-A-Wish chapters established, Make-A-Wish Hawaii continues to be among the busiest in the nation since 1982.


Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project

"The Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project is driven by science and dedicated to the conservation of Hawaii's native forest ecosystems. Formed in 1997, our mission is to develop and implement techniques that recover Maui's endangered birds and to restore their habitats through research, development, and application of conservation techniques.

 

In addition to research, we are actively trying to educate the public on endemic forest birds and their conservation on Maui."


National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii
