Mai Tai Bar

The Ala Moana Center bar is known for its line-up of Island reggae.

If you’ve just finished a little retail therapy, work, or just want to grab a cold one, the Mai Tai Bar, on the fourth floor in the Ala Moana Center, is a solid choice.

The Mai Tai Bar has been a long time local favorite. And for good reason.

The outdoor bar has plenty of seats, and a daily happy hour — twice! — first from 4 to 7 p.m., then late night from 8 to 11 p.m.

But it’s also a good place to catch Hawaii artists and Island reggae, such as the Typical Hawaiians (they play most Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m.), Roots Odyssey, Conscious Roots and more.

Visit the bar’s Facebook page for its monthly, up-to-date live music calendars.

It can get crowded in the evenings and on weekends; be sure to get there early if you want a seat.
