Step over the threshold and into the daily lives of 19th-century missionaries Abner and Lucy Wilcox and their family.
Dating back to 1834, the two-story, four-room structure set on five lush acres was one of the first Western-style houses built on Kauai.
Today, it displays many items used and treasured by the Wilcoxes, including Lucy’s sewing basket and 14-pound coal-heated iron, and a Bible, circa 1806, that was willed to Abner by his favorite aunt.
Also of note are a rosewood melodeon, a wooden clock that still works and a trunk that came around Cape Horn with the couple in 1837.
