Loud drumbeats and a dragon to scare off evil spirits symbolize good luck on Front Street in Lahaina at the 2020 Chinese New Year festivities.

The full-day celebration includes plenty of firecrackers, martial arts, and cultural activities, including the celebration’s traditional lion dance, which will start at the Wo Hing Museum at 5 p.m. The lions will then dance their way through Lahaina along Front Street.

The Wo Hing Museum and Cookhouse will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the celebration.

Celebrate the Year of the Rat, presented by the Lahaina Restoration Foundation. Admission is free.
