Chinese Moon Festival in Lahaina

Lahaina pays tribute to the island’s harvest of locally grown produce as well as honored traditions from China during a traditional Chinese Moon Festival at Wo Hing Museum & Cookhouse on Front Street between 10 am and 8 pm. 

Chinese teas will be served under the sky to the accompaniment of traditional music with an erhu string instrument and gu zheng harp instrument each evening.

Enjoy a display of lanterns and cultural activities like calligraphy and knot tying. 

Kids can learn how to make paper lanterns and plant moon flower seeds. 

Hear a talk on the history of moon festivals in China. 

Watch Chinese cooking demonstrations; traditional moon cakes will be offered for sale. FREE admission.
